Frequently Asked Questions
What is Superposition III?

Superposition III is a 300-person hackathon aimed at high school and college females (trans and non-binary inclusive) in the Bay Area of all experience levels and backgrounds. This event is free and we'll provide Wi-Fi, food, swag, and workspace! Make sure to check out our recap video.

What is hackathon?

A hackathon is a 24-hour event where products and friendships are created. Provided with free food, mentors, and awesome activities, students often work on a personal project to pitch at the end of the hackathon. Overall, hackathons are here to provide a supportive environment for you to learn and explore your interests.

What is our goal?

We are passionate about offering attendees a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment to experiment with technology at any experience level. Additionally, we want to generate a larger interest and help more girls learn and thrive in the technology related fields.

What should I bring?

A valid ID (school ID is fine), a laptop, charger(s), sleeping bag/pillow (if you want), toiletries, signed and completed waivers, and layers--the venue may be chilly! Our venue will be on lock down throughout the night and we will have security. Attendees are recommended to stay overnight!

Who can come?

Anyone who identifies as a female in middle school, high school, and college is welcome. We are inclusive of all non-binary and trans students! Although we do not accept males as attendees, we wholeheartedly welcome all genders to sign up as a mentor, workshop leader, judge, or volunteer!

Do I need a team?

We encourage people to work in teams of up to four. Additionally, there will be time in the beginning dedicated for you to find a team! You are not required to sumbit a hack (but we highly recommend it!), but there will be workshops and mentors on-hand to help you. However, if you receive travel reimbursement, you must submit one (specified in our contract)!

Do you have a code of conduct?

Yes, we do! To ensure that Superposition III is welcoming, all attendees, mentors, and volunteers are required to abide by our code of conduct .

How can I help?

We are looking for mentors, workshop leaders, and sponsors! If you are interested in learning more about how you can help support Superposition, please email us at info@superposition.tech.
